immunohistochemical expression of p53 and bcl2 in colorectal adenomas and carcinomas using automated cellular imaging system

چکیده
background & objective: the current approaches to reduce the risk of colorectal carcinoma are through the detection and removal of the precursor lesion” adenomatous polyps”. the study was conducted to evaluate the immunohistochemical expression of p53 and bcl2 in colorectal adenomas and carcinomas. patients and methods: a total of 86 cases, 33 colorectal adenomas, 33 colorectal adenocarcinomas and 20 samples of non -tumerous colonic tissue as control, were included in this retrospective study. sections were stained immunohistochemically for p53 and bcl2. scoring was performed using digimizer software. data were analyzed using spss program (statistical package for social sciences) version 16 and microsoft office excel 2007. results: the frequency of p53 positive cases was significantly higher in carcinoma than adenoma while the frequency of bcl2 positive cases was significantly higher in adenoma than carcinoma. p53 expression was significantly higher in large sized adenomas, villous configuration, severe dysplasia, and multiple lesions. bcl2 expression showed significantly correlated with adenomas of small size, solitary, tubular, and mild dysplasia. there was a significant correlation between bcl2 expression and non-mucinous carcinoma and a negative correlation with tumor size.therewas an inverse relationship between bcl2 and p53 expression in both colorectal adenomas and carcinomas.

متن کاملImmunohistochemical Expression of p53 and p63 in Adenomas and Carcinomas of Canine Mammary Glands
Mammary tumors are very common in female dogs and its prognosis varies significantly according to the tumor invasion degree. Myoepithelial layer destruction is considered a differential diagnosis parameter of in situ from invasive lesions in human breast cancer. Aiming to evaluate the immunohistochemical expression of p63, a protein specifically expressed by myoepithelial cells of mammary gland...

Background: In cancers of prostate, breast, oropharynx, lung, hypopharynx and skin, human tissue kallikreins has been demonstrated as a main role in these problems. There are many research works in which some human tissue kallikreins are expressed in salivary glands. In the present study, the main goal was to determine expression of human tissue kallikreins 4, 8, 10, 11 and 13 ...
متن کاملp53 expression and K-ras mutation in colorectal adenomas.
The frequency of p53 overexpression and K-ras codon 12 mutation was investigated in a series of colorectal adenomas. p53 was detected by immunohistochemistry in only 5% of tumours, whereas K-ras mutation was found in eight of 30 adenomas examined. In vitro, mutant p53 and ras genes cooperate to transform primary rat cells into a tumourigenic cell line. The presence of both p53 overexpression an...
